Every year, it seems like the holiday season sneaks up on us all. January through October flies by, leaving two months in the year to meet all the goals we've set.
But, as we enter the holiday season, we're reminded of the great things we've accomplished and of the season of giving. This Thanksgiving season, let's take a moment to give back to those who have made a difference in our lived and communities during the year. Please join me for the year's GivingTuesday on Tuesday, November 30th.
GivingTuesday, the Tuesday after the Thanksgiving holiday, is a great way to show our apprecation to our charitable partners and local community. What started as an online day of giving has turned into a global initiative to give back. Everyone has something to contribute, whether it's your time, talents or treasures.
Don't know how to back? That's OK! There are plenty of way to get involved. Here are a few ideas to help you out.
- Collect donations around the office for the local food pantry or women's shelter.
- Volunteer your time at a local nonprofit, hospital or nursing home.
- Create a community donation station, like a little library or little pantry, for those in the community who may be silently struggling.
- Donate a portion of a day's wages or tips to your favorite nonprofit.
No matter how you choose to give back, you are making a difference this holiday season.
